About This Special Issue
The 2020 and 2021 pandemic has had a significant impact on Higher Education. There has been a significant paradigm shift in education, and more specifically in Higher Education. Role-players and decision-makers in Higher Education have had to show resilience and adapt to improve strategies in teaching and learning.
The core aim of this special issue is to encourage a conversation among educationists and scholars, that speaks to new and improved strategies such as benefits of blended learning. Ideally, it also encourages a dialogue about challenges (and solutions) presented by lockdown during the pandemic, and in which manner teaching and learning has changed.
Academics are encouraged to submit relevant papers, providing details of challenges and proposed solutions to an education crisis. Some sub-themes include, but are not limited to:
(1) What are the key challenges of teaching and learning during a pandemic?
(2) Who are the key role-players and how are they addressing gaps in learning?
(3) How impactful is blended learning?
(4) How do educators and lecturers maintain the morale of their students during a global pandemic?
(5) How can academics and educators ensure continuity?
(6) Does online learning achieve adequate outcomes?
